Raiders Crush Chargers, by Sergio and Nathan

The Raiders crushed the Chargers on Dec. 5th. Phil Rivers kept over-throwing the ball .That is just one of the Chargers' problem.The Chargers rank as one of the most disappointing teams in the first half of the NFL season ,winning just twice in six games. Is it a lack of talent?coaching?smart play?

Union Tribune columnists Tim Sullivan and Nick Canepa debate this. The game on Dec.5th 2010 when the RAIDERS CRUSHED THE CHARGERS was the second time the Raiders defeated the Charger.The quarterback Rivers had a terrible game and got sacked five times.

Rivers may have been frustrated knowing that he overthrew the ball two times which helped the Raiders score a touchdown.

This was the two first times that the Raiders beat the Chargers in seven years. But the Raiders defense played well.The Chargers defense was not so good.

Eating healthy is important to our community.

If everyone eats just junk food everyday then thousands of dollars go to waste to produce fruits and vegetables. Nowadays there aren't that many food stores that contain the fruits and vegetables you need. More than half the stores are filled with junk food.

If people keep eating like this and putting healthy stuff to waste then someday stores will keep having a smaller percentage of healthy food. Even most resteraunts don't have healthy food.

The thing is, healthy is costly. I went to a local Jack In the Box and everything I saw was all junk. The healthy list is smaller than the french fry list. I saw a greasy hamburger for 1 dollar while a healthy salad was 6 dollars. Now that is outrageous!!! If there is not that many healthy food at stores and the ones in resteraunts are expensive, then where can I get healthy food.

I'll tell you where i can get healthy food is at a farm. But the thing is i'm in the middle of San Diego and there is not a farm for miles. So I can't tell ou about eating healthy because i know junk food is cheap and it's hard to resist so I won't tell you to eat healthy, i'm asking you, so that they will sell more healthy products at stores and lower costs at restaurants

If you were to go on vacation anywhere where would you go? I would go to the Bahamas.

I would go to the bahamas because it's really relaxing there. Just thinking about it makes me less stressed. There are beautiful beaches and i like the fish in them too.

There are many places to explore there. You can explore on foot or by swimming. There are alot of places to snorkel and see the 250 fish kinds of fish that live at the core of a crater. Speaking of crater there is volcanoes there that are fun to see.

Even if your the type of person that doesn't like to walk around the Bahamas will still fit you because they have alot of relaxing spas all over the islands.They have mud spas and massages there that are so relaxing that you'll be tired and relxed for days.

The Bahamas doesn't cost as much to go to anymore. There are coupons and discounts now to go to it so families can have fun without spending all of their money.

So if you choose anywhere to go on a vacation then i expect you to go to the Bahamas

Linkin Park is one of the most well known bands in the world.

Linkin Park consists of many members. But the t main guys are Chester and Mike. They are the ones that started the great band.

Through out the years Linkin Park have had really great songs. They were in hiatus for a year but now they're back and they have a new cd. There new cd is called a thousand suns and it's really good. It's currently out right now.

To promote their new cd they're going on a tour. Some concerts are already sold out in some areas. They are having a concert in San Diego called A Thousand Suns in Febuary.

You can get tickets to see them at TicketMaster and i hope you do because this will be a really good concert and it will be not right to miss it.

The first episode was aired in nickelodeon on May 1st, 1999.The show reached enormous popularity in 2000 and has remained popular since. A feature film was released in theaters on November 19, 2004.

The series is currently in its seventh season and it celebrated its tenth anniversary on July 17 , 2009 and it has been renewed for an eigth season.The creator of SpongeBob liked drawing marine life and thought sponges were the oddest of all these creatures. Hillenburg thought spongebob would like the smell of pineapple home. Compasses have magnetic element which points the direction of the horizontal.

Magnetic compasses are an old Chinese invention, invented during the Qin dynasty. The first compass was a simple piece of lodestone floating in water.

Compasses determine direction relative to the Earth's magnetic poles. A magnetized pointer in compasses aligns itself with Earth's magnetic field. The compass became useful when traveling in the ocean and on land.

Compasses are capable of directing towards the magnetic north of a planet's magnetosphere . Generally compasses point in all directions --north, south, east, and west-- but the biggest part of the arrow always points north.

The compasses was invented around 247 B.C.

The compass has been around for a very long time and is still very useful.

There are many other kinds of guitars in the world. Acoustic, electric, and many other kinds. there are mostly 6 string guitars but they have 12 string guitas and double neck guitars.

Some people are naturally great at playing guitar but some have to go to guitar lessons which are usually 100 dollars a month. And after a couple months you can be great at guitar and have alot of fun.

I like abstract art. I don't really know why, but it looks cool and creative. I think that some kind of art you can tell how the artist felt when they did it.

Artist aren't the only ones that can do abstract art! Any one can do abstract art because if you're felling sad, lonly, mad, are how ever you feel , all you have to do is have a piece of paper and probably a paint brush. I also like abstract art because the artist's want to make you think what's in the picture.

I think a good artist is Wassily Kandinsky. I think he painted most of his art in Germany. Unfortunately he died in December 13, 1944, he died at the age of 74. He was also born in moscow.

There are many different abstract artists in the world, but for me, I like Wassily Kandinsky, he's a good artist!

8th Grade has been my favorite grade to be in so far. A lot of things have happened in this class, good and bad. I feel that I've matured a lot in the past year, and I've learned more, too. I became more independent in my life and how I handle things. I leave with me the power and responsibility of a person who can be more than just a friend, enemy, brother, cousin, father, husband, so on.

For me, it is possible to me more happy than sad to leave Ms. Harwood's class, because now I can achieve bigger and better things, become a better person, and know where I want to be in my life and what I want to do. out of all the people that Ive met in my life the most valued one in my heart is Ms.Harwood. she has helped me when i was feeling sad, mad, or just not in the mood and i can actually say that she been one of the most positive influences in my life. thank you so much for being there for me. Another person i would like to mention who also helped me in my 8Th grade troubles is Mr.B my T.A. he is also been there to help me with some of my hard times.

- This year was fun even though I spent half of MY year at Monarch . I will really miss Ms. Harwood & Mr. Barron . They were the coooolest teachers ever ! In order to become a pro cyclist you have to start somewhere. somewhere like the Velodrome. the Velodrome cycling center is an excellent place to go if you are looking for a positive enviorment. The Velodrome has a youth program called VeloYouth and i am a part of that program. At the Velodrome there is a lady named Tanya, she is the one that decided to start VeloYouth. VeloYouth is a 7 - week program that helps kids learn the sport of cycling, while there kids also learn track cycling, responsibility, teamwork, empowerment and pride. I personally love the velodrome. It helps me relieve stress. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to relieve stress try cycling.

Have you ever wondered why the Mexican flag has an eagle holding a snake?

The history of the Mexican flag will explain this. A legend says the Aztec Indians built their capital Tenochtitlan (now Mexico city) where they saw an eagle perched on a cactus and devouring a snake.

The Mexico's flag was adopted in 1821. The green stands for independence, white for religion, and red for union. In the middle of the flag is an eagle eating a snake on top of a cactus. The flag shows the original people which were the Aztecs. It is a colorful flag which shows modern Mexico's, independence, religion, and union.

Spanish is my first language and it come from Mexico and thats why the flag means a lot to me.

One belief of where the name came from is an ancient Indian word "Tiguan " meaning "close to the water". Another belief is that the name came from a ranch, Tia Juana (Aunt Jane's) ranch.

Urban settlement started in Tijuana.

The actual date Tijuana was found in 1889. And the correct way to say Tijuana isn't Ti"a"Juana its Tijuana.

As you can see, Tijuana has a rich history. It is a big place with lots to see and history to learn about.

Beans,Tacos,Chaybia,Tres Leches,tostilocos, and Tinga. What do these foods have in common?? They are all MEXICAN food, and we love them.We grew up eating MEXICAN food. Yummy-delicious food. Our mothers always cooked MEXICAN food; it tastes better than any Mexican restaurants. Our recipes been pass from generation to generation.
One our favorite food is tostilocos. We love tostilocos because its like a bomb going off in your mouth. Tostilocos are very spicy and sweet at the same time. Another favorite food of ours is Chayiba. Chayiba is shredded crab meat with lemon, tomatoes, onoins, and cilantro. Chayiba has a tangy taste in it. Next time your in a MEXICAN restaurant, don't be afraid to experiment and taste something different.

Rap music is my favorite music because most rappers tell about life and how it is. When they rap they also tell their life story and what they have been through.

Rappers like Mitchy Slick and South Park Mexican tell people about their struggles with drugs, gangs, jail and girls.

They have been to jail and have had many hard times in their lives. Rappers have a lot to say, and want to say it in a unique way, that's why they rap. They also rap about others' lives and their struggles.

Rappers can also write songs about love--like street poetry--and it doesn't always have to be violent.

Rap music, to me, is a way of telling stories about life.

Gospel and soul music, mainly gospel, helps me to relieve stress. It helps me meditate, and let out feelings. The three main gospel artist that i love are Kirk Franklin, Erica and Tina Camble AKA Mary Mary, and Marvin Sap. Their music touches my heart.

They have their own way of worshiping when it comes down to their music weather it hip hop, soft and mellow, or hard core, more into worship. I also have three main soul and R&B artist. they are Alisha Keys, Musiq Soulchild, and Maxwell.

Allot of times these types of music helps you to set your mind on peace and love. most of gospel music comes from the word of god, which is the Holt Bible. it helps me to just forget about my troubles, and forget about my worries, and have joy.

Art is one of the ways for people to communicate to the world by being positive and a little negative. Art is used by many people to tell a massage or story. I use art when I am not in the mood or mad at the world. I think famous artist made to calm people down and to take away stress. For example, look at Starry Night by Van Gogh. When I look at Starry Night, it makes fell nice and peaceful because of the yellow stars and the dark mountains.

My paycheck was $260 dollars this December. That was from my work with Butterfly Enterprises.

Butterfly Enterprises is a student-run business that produces embroidery, jewelry, napkins, and note cards. The business is supervised by three very dedicated volunteers. Students along with the volunteers go to different events around San Diego County to sell their products. Then on Wednesdays, make the things people ordered.

I have stuck with Butterfly Enterprises for almost a year not only for the fat paycheck, but for the lessons I've learned such as: patience, self reliance, people skills, and a work ethic. Even though I will be leaving Monarch for a regular high school I hope to continue working for the business.

I really like his style because its messing and colorful. His style will never bore me.

People have been evolving since the beginning of time. cave men made the rough drafts of the tools we use today and we will only continue to grow in our imagination. As we turn our thoughts into a reality we start to wonder how far we can or should go. We are getting closer and closer to making ourselves too powerful, making too many dreams reality's, and one day the power we obtain will be the thing to destroy us.

Until then we continue to go further into our brains to pull out unreal designs. This time or time in the future we are getting closer to making a distant dream into a reality straight out the pages of fiction. Ever since the beginning of time people have wanted to control the things that seem to control them. Like the Egyptians praying to the god of the sun. Of course the thing we want to do is control the weather.

To be able to sling lightning around and wipe things off the map without lifting a finger. There are the normal questions to be asked like the obvious if it fell into the wrong hands conundrum. But think of the good it could do (and of course the bad). Think of how this could give rain when we have a drought (or make a drought to shut down agricultural trade.) This is of course a skill not perfected and we are taking steps to make it more real. As of now we have perfected the art of cloud seeding the control of how much rain falls or where it falls.

Cloud seeding was created of course by an American by the name of Vincent Schrieffer on November 13, 1946. The largest cloud seeding plant in the world is in (Shockingly) China and they use it basically every day to increase the amount of rain in arid areas. That is causing problems with neighboring countries. They accuse China of “stealing rain” or redirecting rain that was meant for them. The government uses cloud seeding all the time without you knowing for example China used their weather control to cook up a nice day in the normally cloudy Beijing right before the 2008 Olympic Games.

China had 30 airplanes, 4,000 rocket launchers, and 7,000 anti-aircraft guns to stop rain.(no exaggeration) Each system would shoot various chemicals into any threatening clouds to shrink rain drops before they reached the stadium. Obviously something this big should have (and deserves) conspiracy. Ours is H.A.A.R.P the High Frequency Active Aurora Research Program. If we develop weapons out of this they will be behind it. They’ve been blamed for earth quakes, tornado's, floods, and just about every other weather related thing you can think of. More recently the Haiti and Chile earthquakes. Still these are just rumors, vary far out rumors. In short if weapons were to arise H.A.A.R.P would be the one to make them.

But there is good news, on May 18, 1977 we (the U.S) signed a contract saying we wouldn't use the weather for aggressive purposes. So don't worry were safe for now.

We chose to do Estelle because she is very ugly & we don't like her music at all. Her music SUCKS and so does her style. She doesn't dress up to date and she doesn't really know how to sing.

The one song that was all right was '' American Boy "; probably the BEST thing about " American Boy " is that Kayne West raps in it.We don't mean to be rude, but she just not the greatest.

When Estelle changes her songs and outfits then maybe she'll be up to date and cool, and maybe we'll buy her CD.

I never thought I would ever go to juvenile hall. And spent close to four years in and out of there.

I was involved in about 15 fights, some really serious during the four years I was there. There are too many gangs ,too little space, and allot of anger.

In four years I had five black eyes.Now that I have been out a few months, I keep to myself allot, I am more cautious and most of the time take responsibility for my actions. I learned hanging out with the wrong crowd can get you into trouble.

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to express your feelings in a way that helps you? Try poetry.

Poetry is a very helpful way to express your feelings and not have to act them out. For example, the type of feelings you can express are love, fear, anger, happiness, etc. You can say how you love someone, how someone broke your heart. There is just an endless cycle of topics. I use poetry myself at times when I have to say something but no one is around to talk to, and it helps me a lot.

Hopefully, you will try poetry one day to see if you like it. I can promise you will like or maybe even love poetry.
